Big Timber features 7 nice cabins in a lovely park like setting, amoung big pine, spruce, & paper birch. Located on the east shore of beautiful North Star Lake. We have gorgeous lake views, amazing colorful sunsets, and gentle lake breezes. Big Timber specializes in family vacations and family reunions.

- North Star Lake has excellent fishing & produces tasty baskets of panfish, large Northerns, Walleyes, and Bass.
- North Star Lake is well known for hard fighting, trophy size Muskies!
- Free use of a boat OR a free dock space for your boat, as well as free use of our paddleboat and canoe.
North Star Lake is very clean and clear. A fisherman’s paradise and a water-lover’s dream. North Star has many bays, point and island and is mostly surrounded by Chippewa National Forest public land. There’s always a quiet, calm spot to fish and little boat traffic.
On-Site Facilities
- Big Timber has a wonderful sandy swimming area, with chaise lounges, a children’s water slide, a swim raft, as well has an awesome kids playground and evening campfires with free firewood. We have a basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and ping pong, along with a small library and board games in our office.
- Just 2 miles north of Big Timber, Marcell’s community park has a paved walking trail, tennis courts, softball field, hose shoe pits, playgound equipment, informational kiosk and picnic grounds. At the “Edge of the Wilderness Discovery Center” you can learn about area wildlife and history, obtain maps, gifts and more.
- IN friendly Marcell, Grand Rapids, Bigfork and Effie, you’ll find great shopping in unique gift and antique shops, stores both large and small. Treat yourself to a dellicious meal at one of the area’s find eating establishments, or play a round of golf at several challenging area courses.
