Take a short 2 hour drive from the Twin Cities to Alexanrdia, MN and you may be surprised to see a 28 feet tall giant named Big Ole. He is there to welcome you to the area that has a lot to offer. There are pristine lakes with unbeatable fishing and water skiing, excellent golf, museums and history, and unique shopping. Just south of Alexandria is the town of Glenwood on Lake Minnewaska. The town offers a great view of the lake and several nice shops to explore. You will also find Peters Sunset Beach Resort. There resort was built in 1915 and includes a restaurant, beautiful 18 hole golf course and a nice sandy beach. It is a great place for groups and family reunions.
