Biking is a great activity for the whole family. It is relatively inexpensive. Biking allows you to see parts of the state that you miss when you are driving. It can be very relaxing and quiet. My wife and I took a few days to bike on the Root River. We went through the small towns of Preston, Lanesboro, and Whalan. Some of the other towns connected to the trail are Harmony, Fountain, Peterson, Rushford and Houston. The trail also offers cross country skiing in the winter. What we enjoyed most was the scenery. There were high bluffs, farm fields, wildlife and of course the Root River. Some people enjoy canoeing, kayaking, or tubing down the river. We decided, for the sake of time, to stay to the trail. Summer time can be busy so plan ahead. For more information go to Root River Bike Trail
