Enjoy Minnesota’s Quiet Winter Wonderland

It is time to grab some cross country skis and head out on a trail to experience the solitude of the north woods.  If you don’t have your own skis you can rent them from most resorts.  There are many trails systems throughout the Northland.  The resort employees can direct you to the type of trails that match your skill level.  You may need to purchase a Ski Pass sticker to have access to the trails.  These help pay for the maintenance and grooming of the trails.

After a fun day on the trails you can head back to your cabin or room and exchange stories of your adventure and what you saw.  Cross country skiing is a life long sport that gives you great exercise and a chance to see the outdoors in a completely new way.

If cross country skiing isn’t your thing you might consider snow shoeing.  Snowshoeing allows you to explore hiking trails that are usually difficult to hike and see the woods in a new way.

These activities offer a nice quiet way to experience the woods and hear the sounds of animals that you might otherwise miss.
